  • Creating Opportunity for Employees

The Brenda Strafford Foundation is committed to providing encouragement to employees, and supporting their continued growth. One way in which The Foundation confirms this commitment is through the Employee Education Reimbursement Fund.

Long Standing Service Testimonial - Debbie Willemsen

Posted on February 3, 2023 in Employee Stories

Debbie Willemsen is a housekeeping aide and has worked at the BSF for 25 years, continuously going above and beyond to ensure our residents are comfortable and feel at home.

"What I look most forward to coming to work is the residents and their families, and the staff from all departments. My favourite memory is when the dining room was down across from where the kitchen is now, so they would bring the hot carts to the floors for the residents to go, and all staff would help serve to their rooms. A little mention to the great Christmas parties in the Britannia room. I've always loved working at the BSF, I guess you could say they always felt like family, a second home."

In the spirit of respect, reconciliation and gratitude, we honour and acknowledge that our services are provided on the traditional territories of Treaty 7, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy comprising the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda First Nation including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Good Stoney Bands. These territories are also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3. We are grateful for the many First Nations who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We acknowledge that we have ongoing responsibilities to protect, honour and celebrate all of life within our shared communities.
