  • Creating Opportunity for Employees

The Brenda Strafford Foundation is committed to providing encouragement to employees, and supporting their continued growth. One way in which The Foundation confirms this commitment is through the Employee Education Reimbursement Fund.

Long Standing Service Testimonial - Helen Antonino

Posted on January 20, 2023 in Employee Stories

Helen Antonino has worked as health care aide at the Brenda Strafford Foundation for the past 10 years. As a health care aide, she supports and cares for our residents in a variety of ways, including providing assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, meals, and medication.

"Working for 10 years at the Brenda Strafford Foundation gave me an opportunity to learn and have a great experience as a Health Care Aide. What I love most about the BSF is they are multicultural, hiring people of different nationalities and offering scholarships to their staff to go back to school and pursue their dreams. Going to work every day feels like I'm coming home and seeing my family, because I know I have a great team! We work together and help each other, and management is always there to support us. I will never forget that I was part of the Tudor Manor team for more than 9 years and it was an exceptional experience working with them!"

In the spirit of respect, reconciliation and gratitude, we honour and acknowledge that our services are provided on the traditional territories of Treaty 7, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy comprising the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda First Nation including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Good Stoney Bands. These territories are also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3. We are grateful for the many First Nations who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We acknowledge that we have ongoing responsibilities to protect, honour and celebrate all of life within our shared communities.
