A Wish for New Clothes: Glenn and Tricia's Wish

Posted on November 15, 2022 in Pursuit of a Lifetime

Joan, also known by her nickname Tricia, is a resident at the Brenda Strafford Foundation. Tricia is a long-time lover of clothing and shopping. She used to be a talented seamstress, and consequently, understood well-made clothes.

Unfortunately, due to progressing dementia, she is unable to sew or shop for clothing like she used to, so when her husband, Glenn, learned about the Pursuit of a Lifetime program he made a special wish for his wife; new clothing.

“The Bible says ‘Love never fails.’” said Glenn. “As a result, showing love for family members is a way of displaying true love.”

The Brenda Strafford Foundation was very excited to grant this wish to Glenn and Tricia, and now Tricia has a wardrobe full of brand-new clothes to wear.

Have you or your loved one living at the Brenda Strafford Foundation always dreamed about doing something special, or would benefit from a special wish being fulfilled? If so, we invite you to apply now, or we encourage you to consider what your special wish might be to apply in the future.

In the spirit of respect, reconciliation and gratitude, we honour and acknowledge that our services are provided on the traditional territories of Treaty 7, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy comprising the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda First Nation including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Good Stoney Bands. These territories are also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3. We are grateful for the many First Nations who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We acknowledge that we have ongoing responsibilities to protect, honour and celebrate all of life within our shared communities.
