When Isabel was a child, she had a black horse named Sunny. Now, as a resident at the Brenda Strafford Foundation, she often talks about Sunny, reliving her favourite memories from her time on the farm. So, when Isabel’s friend heard about the Pursuit of a Lifetime program, she knew a horse visit would be the perfect wish.
“We chat about her horse all the time. Her favourite memories are of her and her horse, Sunny,” said Isabel’s friend. “She has a picture of herself on her door of when she was 14 with Sunny.”
With the help of a local farm, the Brenda Strafford Foundation was able to arrange for a horse to visit Isabel at Tudor Manor. She had the chance to pet the horse and talk about her memories of Sunny. After the visit, she was given a gift basket full of goodies to commemorate the special day.
The Brenda Strafford Foundation is proud to offer our residents, like Isabel, a chance to pursue their dreams, discover new experiences, and rekindle old passions. Have you or your loved one living at the Brenda Strafford Foundation always dreamed about doing something special, or would benefit from a special wish being fulfilled? If so, we invite you to apply now, or we encourage you to consider what your special wish might be to apply in the future.
