I am a Case Manager with Heart Home Network; my role involves supporting women and their children to address the impacts of domestic violence. This position requires extensive knowledge of intersectionality to address barriers for women and children who have experienced domestic violence. Further, we work from a harm reduction perspective with the goal of empowering families to live safe and fulfilling lives.
After completing a diploma in Addictions, I had a passion to further my education in Social Work. My career goals are to eventually pursue Clinical Social Work. I have had the benefit of working while taking this program which has been a unique experience. This allows me to apply learned concepts directly into my work.
The Educational Reimbursement program has supported me to complete my program free of cost which has helped significantly. The funds received have allowed me to simultaneously achieve my education and professional goals while supporting my family.
I love being a part of the BSF team, I feel supported in my role and in my education. The BSF, specifically where I work at Heart Home Network, is a great place to work and they genuinely care about their staff.
