Queeneth D is a BSF Licensed Practical Nurse at Bow View Manor and a recent BSF Employee Education Fund recipient who applied the fund toward the Post-LPN Program.

She chose to become an LPN because she’s always had a strong desire to care for others, especially those who need support in their later years. Growing up, Queeneth spent time with elderly family members, and found it incredibly fulfilling to assist them in maintaining their dignity and well-being.

She wants to continue growing in her role as an LPN by gaining additional experience, proceed with her RN program and later take on leadership opportunities that specialize in areas such as geriatric care or palliative care. She’d also like to become more involved in training or mentoring new staff to ensure BSF’s high standard of care continues.

BSF’s commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care aligns closely with Queeneth’s professional values. The team as a whole has taught her the importance of working collaboratively and maintaining a resident-centered approach. The facility’s emphasis on respect, dignity, and holistic care has deeply influenced her approach to nursing, and she sees these values shaping her long-term career aspirations.

She said, “I hope to make a lasting impact by consistently providing excellent care to the residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Additionally, I would like to be a resource for newer staff members, helping them learn the ropes and embody the mission and values of BSF. I believe I can contribute to a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and promoting an inclusive, supportive culture.”

Receiving an Employee Education Fund has been instrumental in helping her pursue further education and certification and allowed her to improve her clinical skills and understanding of specialized care. This support eases the financial burden of continuing her education and brings her closer to the goal of advancing in her career and contributing even more effectively at BSF.

Queeneth concluded her thoughts, “What I love most about BSF is the sense of community here. The staff is like a family, and we all work together to create a comfortable, respectful environment for our residents. The residents themselves bring so much joy and wisdom to my work, and I feel privileged to be part of their lives. BSF’s focus on not just physical care, but emotional and psychological well-being, makes it a place where I feel my efforts are truly making a difference.”
