Lani B is a Dietary Aide at Tudor Manor. Her daughter, Vera is enrolled in a Practical Nursing program at Bow Valley College. Lani encouraged Vera to apply for BSF’s Kids Educational Fund awards. When Vera successfully attained funding, we asked her to share some thoughts about her experience.
“I chose this degree because I appreciate the hands-on work involved in patient care and find the healthcare profession fascinating. Becoming a practical nurse provides a solid foundation for learning the necessary skills to significantly enhance people's lives.
Becoming a registered nurse is my primary career goal. I want to enhance my knowledge and gain experience so that I may provide even more thorough treatment to my patients.
I'm currently looking at particular areas where I can make a difference, but I want to help by providing excellent, compassionate care, promoting patients' well-being, and eventually inspiring and mentoring upcoming medical professionals.”
Vera appreciates BSF’s financial support which has provided access to new resources to help her schooling and job progress.
