Creative Writing class captures residents' memorable moments

Every resident has a story and a history.. At Bow View Manor, high school students from the Foundations for the Future Charter Academy (FFCA) Creative Writing Class helped to capture memorable moments in a creative way.

Students were paired up together to interview one resident. Questions such as “What are you most proud of?” and “What words of advice do you have to offer?” were asked. Residents were happy to share their stories with the younger generation. The FFCA students collected information about the past from each resident and, with creativity and thought, created eloquent and impactful poems about memorable moments from the seniors life experiences. Each story was reflected in a beautiful and sentimental fashion.

The Recreation Department will continue to work with the FFCA classes to complete interviews with new residents. Bow View Manor has 231 residents and the students of FFCA will help to have every story shared with staff, co-residents, volunteers and family members.
