Long Standing Service Testimonial - Phoebe Yu

Posted on March 9, 2023 in Employee Stories

Phoebe Yu is a Licensed Practical Nurse at The Brenda Strafford Foundation’s Tudor Manor. She has been working with the foundation for 10 years, and exemplifies “The BSF Way” through her compassion and empathy for our residents and families.

“It gives me great pleasure to come to work knowing that I am playing an important role... As a company, BSF has a very good working culture. As a team, we support each other under high pressure," said Phoebe. "I was delighted to be invited to speak at BSF's Resident and Family Centred Care and Living Symposium in 2019. Thanks to BSF, I was nominated for the 2017 Laura Crawford Excellence in Nursing Practice Award from the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Furthermore, Tudor Manor awarded me Employee of the Year in 2016. My professional development is greatly facilitated by BSF."

In the spirit of respect, reconciliation and gratitude, we honour and acknowledge that our services are provided on the traditional territories of Treaty 7, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy comprising the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda First Nation including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Good Stoney Bands. These territories are also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3. We are grateful for the many First Nations who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We acknowledge that we have ongoing responsibilities to protect, honour and celebrate all of life within our shared communities.
