  • Creating Opportunity for Employees

The Brenda Strafford Foundation is committed to providing encouragement to employees, and supporting their continued growth. One way in which The Foundation confirms this commitment is through the Employee Education Reimbursement Fund.

IntegrityCounts: Whistleblower Program

The Brenda Strafford Foundation’s (BSF) goal is to empower employees who may be witness to, or part of a wrong-doing to speak up.

If you see:

  • An illegal act
  • An act or omission that creates a substantial danger to life or the health and safety of a resident or staff member
  • Gross mismanagement of BSF funds or BSF assets
  • Someone knowingly direct another to commit a wrongdoing mentioned above

We want you to report it.

If you feel as though you are unable to follow the regular workplace processes, there are three confidential ways to report an incident. Your report will be anonymous if you choose.

FAQ

Employee Education Fund

Since its start in December 2014, we have seen employees from support services go through the HCA certification courses in order to become HCAs; HCAs pursuing the next step in their career paths to become LPNs; and others continue to expand and grow within their current career path. It has been exciting to be able to meet with each individual and congratulate them on their award, and learn more about their desire to further their careers with the Foundation.

I am proud of this program, and what we are able to offer our employees, and encourage you to look at your own personal career path and consider how you might benefit from this program.

Thank you for your commitment to The Brenda Strafford Foundation. I extend my thanks to the Employee Educational Reimbursement Fund Committee for their hard work in making this program possible.

President and CEO

Recipient testimonial

"I will be attending workshops and seminars that I believe will give me confidence in my new role as LPN."As a recipient, I have the opportunity to improve my chosen career as an LPN through the financial support that was awarded to me.  This will help me in my LPN learning plan for my continuing competency. This is a requirement set by the CLPNA to assure competence in our area of practice.

I'm so grateful for the support and will recommend this program to my former HCA co-workers to help them advance their career. This is an excellent opportunity to spread their wings to further expand their knowledge and be part of the BSF continuing innovation and goal for excellence in providing safe, competent and quality of care for our residents/seniors.

Thank you BSF!

Marilou Lagan LPN
