  • Creating Opportunity for Employees

The Brenda Strafford Foundation is committed to providing encouragement to employees, and supporting their continued growth. One way in which The Foundation confirms this commitment is through the Employee Education Fund.

Meet Stacy - National Nursing Week 2023

Posted on May 11, 2023 in Employee Stories

In honour of #NationalNursingWeek, we would like to take the opportunity to highlight and celebrate our nursing staff.

Meet Stacy! Stacy is a registered nurse at The Brenda Strafford Foundation’s Bow View Manor. She puts people first and exemplifies the BSF Way to provide person-centred care and services to optimize wellbeing.

A typical workday for Stacy can include shift reports with staff, administering medications, doing wound care, communicating with families, physicians, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, answering and making phone calls, and much more.

Stacy’s favourite part about working at BSF is being there for our residents and families. “It can be doing wound care, assessing a resident’s status, supporting residents and families at difficult times, spending one to one time with a resident, or getting a cup of coffee for a resident,” she said.

Thank you, Stacy, for everything you do on a daily basis to optimize wellbeing and enrich lives!

In the spirit of respect, reconciliation and gratitude, we honour and acknowledge that our services are provided on the traditional territories of Treaty 7, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy comprising the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda First Nation including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Good Stoney Bands. These territories are also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3. We are grateful for the many First Nations who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We acknowledge that we have ongoing responsibilities to protect, honour and celebrate all of life within our shared communities.
